Originally from Vancouver Island, Kirsten Hatfield is a graduate of the Fine Arts Diploma program at North Island College as well as a BFA recipient from Emily Carr University. She is heavily involved in the local arts community as a practicing artist, curator, art director and art educator. Each of her paintings are an exploration of contradictions: the artificial and the natural, the digital and the physical, organization and chaos, flatness and depth, synthetic and natural colours, the sublime and the banal, nostalgia and progression.
